A Fun-Filled Easter Wedding At Bassmead Manor Barns

With a delicate colour scheme, beautiful flowers and fabulous entertainment, the spring wedding of Jade and Jason was the ultimate romantic, joyous celebration.

The Perfect Venue

With friends and family all over the country, Jade and Jason wanted a fun-filled wedding where they could celebrate with as many of their relatives as possible. Dreaming of a barn wedding venue in the countryside, they came across Bassmead Manor Barns online. Jason went to take a look and… the rest is history!

“As a carpenter, he was in awe of the beautiful 300-year-old features. When I saw his excitement and love for the venue, we arranged another viewing and booked the wedding that day!”

“The surroundings are beautiful, the Rickety Barn is intimate and cosy, the reception rooms ticked all the boxes and the spaces is a perfect size.”

Theme of the Day

With a wedding date of 1st April, both Easter Sunday and April Fool’s Day, the happy couple embraced an Easter theme and a fun wedding hashtag, #Isoldafools.

Choosing an elegant colour palette of pale grey and white with beautiful spring greenery, decorations included home-made confetti, a flower backdrop, glass vases with floating candles and rustic wood ‘LOVE’ lights.

Flowers and trees adorned Bassmead Manor Barns with trees for some centrepieces and flowers for others. Roses, lisianthus, tulips, ranunculus, freesia and eucalyptus were just some of the glorious spring blooms featured in the day.

“We tried to create a light, stress-free atmosphere with the whites and greenery, including wooden lights and pallets as a nod to the style of the barns.”

All About Outfits

Jade found the perfect gown while shopping with her mum. While she felt indecisive about whether it was ‘the one’, her mother made the final decision for her and it proved to be the perfect choice.

“My mum was the only person to have seen my dress and she absolutely loved it. Knowing she chose it for me meant so much as she unexpectedly passed away. On my wedding day, I knew I had the perfect dress… the one my mum and I had bought together.” – Jade

Meanwhile, Jason looked the part in a navy suit (with superhero cufflinks!) and the bridesmaids were stunning in pale grey, full length gowns from ASOS with silver and pearl details.

Food, Glorious Food

Following their romantic ceremony in The Rickety Barn, welcome drinks and canapés were served and guests mingled both inside and out.

A live saxophonist welcomed the newlyweds to the Bridge Barn where the wedding breakfast started with a smoked bacon Scotch egg, followed by roast chicken and, for pudding, glazed lemon tart.

“We always have a large family roast dinner at Easter and it was a Sunday so we had to have a traditional roast!”

The First Dance Moment

As the sun went down, Jade and Jason took to the dancefloor for their first dance to the piano version of ‘The One’ by Beth.

A truly fabulous party followed with games, popcorn, pizza, cocktails, a live saxophonist, a DJ and sparklers! “Everyone just let their hair down and had a truly awesome time! I know most people say this, but everyone told us how well planned the day was as it catered for everyone.”

Favourite Moment

“Seeing each other for the first time – that special first glimpse where your excitement levels peak and you think… this is it… our big day!”

A Thought from the Bride

“The Events Team were amazing. From the moment we met Hayley, we knew what an asset she is to have. She dealt with us changing our minds, making requests and constantly asking questions. On the day she was a lifesaver too.”
